Siavush Gadjiev
Pianist Siavush Gadjiev completed his musical training at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow under the guidance of renowned teachers such as Bella Davidovich and Boris Zemliansky. At the Moscow Conservatory, he also earned a Master's degree in Music (Interpretation Course) under the mentorship of Mikhail Voskresensky. He was invited to teach at the prestigious Central Special Music School of the Moscow Conservatory, which aims to train musically gifted students from the former Soviet Union as well as from Japan, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Romania, Korea, and the United States.
Since 1994, he has been actively involved in teaching in Italy and Slovenia, at the "Glasbena Matica" in Trieste and at the Ljubljana Conservatory.
Among his internationally distinguished students are personalities such as Alexander Gadjiev (2nd Prize at the Chopin Competition, Overall Winner of the Sydney and Hamamatsu competitions), Alexei Nabioulin (2nd Prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Overall Winner of the "Casagrande" and "Axa" competitions in Dublin), Giuseppe Guarrera (2nd Prize at the Montreal Competition), and Timur Erzhanov (Winner of the "Schumann" competition in Zwickau).
He has conducted masterclasses, seminars, and lecture-concerts (including monographic sessions on Russian repertoire) in Russia, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, the United States, and various conservatories in Italy, with a particular focus on courses for the interpretation of Mozart and Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and pedagogical training.
From 2000 to 2015, he served as Artistic Director of the International Piano Interpretation Prize "Giuliano Pecar" in Gorizia.
He has served as a jury member in numerous international competitions (such as the "Bartok-Liszt" in Budapest, "Hummel" in Bratislava, etc.).
His frequent concert performances in the former USSR, Yugoslavia, Poland, Germany, the United States, and Italy have been critically acclaimed and well-received by audiences. An eclectic musician and excellent interpreter of piano literature by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, and Prokofiev—authors he particularly favors—Gadjiev dedicates himself to both solo recitals and chamber music concerts in duo, trio, and quintet formations. He has collaborated with various symphony orchestras and renowned conductors such as S. Kogan, Nijasi, K. van Alphen, K. Trevor, and others.
