Paulina Abber was born in Klagenfurt (Austria) and she has been living for many years in the Tuscany city of Lucca. Since she was very young, she has taken part in the children choir of the Austrian television, as soloist. She started to study singing at the age of 15 at the Conservatory of her hometown. At the age of 16, she won an international scholarship to join the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Rome where she graduated with honours in Lyrical Singing. She improved herself at the Mozarteum in Salzburg for German Opera and at the University of Vienna. She has followed Masterclasses with Sena Jurinac and Giulietta Simionato. She has joined for several times the ensemble of the Zurich Opera and later the theatre of Lucerne, whose president was the Master Marcello Viotti, where she remained for many years, performing many roles in Italian and German operas. After having come back Italy and having worked as freelancer, in 2009 she decided to provide her experience to young singers and opened the Lyrical Agency “Operastage” in Lucca, with the aim to help young singers to enter in the labour market at international level, counting not only on her experience but also on the knowledge of different foreign languages. She lectured in international masterclasses, such as those of the Wichita University. Due to the repertoire performed and the knowledge of German, she is a very esteemed teacher, especially for the repertoire “beyond the Alps”. She often takes part in juries in international competitions, both in Italy and abroad. She took part in the jury of the international competition in Hong Kong.
