ANGELA CHIOFALO graduated in piano with full marks and cum laude in the Music Conservatory of Reggio Calalabria, Italy, were she was born. She continued her studies in Roma, with Valerij Voskoboinikov, Fausto Zadra and Konstantin Bogino. Afterwards Angela Chiofalo attended also the prestigious Master classes in Accademia Chigiana- Siena- and Mozarteum -Salzburg. At the same time she graduated in Music in the University of Bologna with Aldo Clementi.
In 1985 she established the chamber music group Polimnia Ensemble and played, among the others, in Teatro San Carlo and Settimane Villa Pignatelli in Napoli, Sala Verdi in Milano, Teatro Comunale in Modena, Melba Hall in Melbourne, University of Music Toronto, Herrevochen in Hannover, Phylarmonia in S. Petersburg, Glinka Museum of Moscow, Presidential Orchestra Hall of Ankara. See was soloist in several broadcasted concerts such as Radio 3Ssuite, Concerti del Quirinale and Domenica Musica.and she recorded live for the national TV channel RAI3 during the opening the Paisiello Theatre in Lecce. Angela Chiofalo recorded live for TV network Rete4 the concert season from the Parioli Theatre in Rome.
Angela Chiofalo is recording for the label Musikstrasse. Three CD on the chamber music of Rossini, Donizetti and Mercadante and the complete series of 50 Etudes op. 740 of C. Czerny, shared with several pianist among which M.Campanella, are already published. The CD of Rapsodia 3 by the composer Aldo Clementi, will be published in a while The piece, specially written for Polimnia Ensemble, was also performed as a premiere in the Festival Nuova Consonanza in Roma. A collection of Russian Chamber music works, recorded live for the label. Musicalia in the Russian Embassy in Roma, has been published.
Angela Chiofalo is the founder and artistic director of the Festival Fantamusicasìa that took place in Parco della Musica in Roma and during wich she cooperated with artists like Milena Vucotic, Ninetto Davoli and Giuseppe Manfridi.
Angela Chiofalo is professor of Piano in the Conservatorio of Padua. Since 2004, she’s also the artistic director of Campus delle Arti in Tuscania, a Festival in which her passion for teaching gathers hundreds of young musicians. Besides she produces the Campus Festival, with concerts and neuromusicologymeetings in cooperation with doctors and scientists.
