MIRKO BALLICO studied organ first in Vicenza (diploma with full marks), then in Linz at the “Bruckner University”, where under the guidance of B. Leighton he a takes a first-class pedagogic-oriented degree in concert subject (cum Laude), last at the Verona Conservatory where he takes the Master degree in Organ (cum Laude).

He obtained the Composition Diploma and the Brass Director Doploma at the Verona Conservatory.

During his studies, he takes other qualifications in different accademies also with M. Radulescu, L. Rogg, W. Zerer, C. Rieger.
Refined and multifarious composer, many of his works are in the catalogue at “Armelin Music” in Padua.

First prize in national and international music events ( Viterbo – 2000, Angullara Veneta – 2000, 2001, Caldaro – 2001, Fuessen – 2002, Borca di Cadore – 2003, Innsbruck – 2004) he has also won “Paul Hofhaimer” Prize at Innsbruck in 2007, a prize that was given only five times in the history of the prize itself and the International Music Prize of Carunchio in 2008.

He has won several composition prize at the “BPV” competition of the Verona Conservatory.

Interested especially in performance, Mirko devotes himself to a deep study of Renaissance and Baroque music founding all his performances on historical treatises and thus favouring a philological execution.

His overwhelming concert activity has brought Mirko to play in important music events in Italy also abroad (Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany).

Mirko has registered many CDs (Rainbow Classics, La Bottega Discantica) including “Italian duel in two organs” sponsored by the region of Friuli and “Organ music at the time of Andrea Palladio” sponsored by the Province of Vicenza in occasion of Palladio celebrations 2008.

He was teacher at the Conservatory in Bergamo, Adria, Bolzano and Padova.
